The best way to get at the game is to find out what version of DirectX it uses and use a hooking application that gains access to the redrawing of the screen.  Another tool which is good is to use an application value monitor to find stuff like HP and MP.  I made a weak application that was only good for one update that hooked into the game and made time status meters for spells and damage numbers bubbled on the screen in the middle too.

Just search for your thirst.  Windower is not really that big of an application.
